Content: This intensive MDS training will provide in-depth education on the RAI process. This program will help staff better understand the assessment process and why quality measures trigger.

Objectives: At the completion of the training, the participant will be able to: 

  1. Understand the requirements for correct and timely completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 resident assessments
  2.  Discuss the impact of specific MDS items on reimbursement and quality measure scores
  3.  Identify common MDS errors and strategies to avoid inaccuracies

Audience: This program is appropriate for all staff in nursing facilities.

Format: Registrants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Each attendee will designate in-person or virtual format during registration. Registrants must attend in the format in which they are registered. Please note, the second day of this training, February 20, is virtual only.

If you are attending virtually, an internet connection is required. NHCA uses Zoom as the webinar platform. You may participate from any computer and most mobile devices that have internet access. However, to receive full credit, you must be logged into the Zoom app through your computer or mobile device. Visit zoom.us/test to test if your computer is ready for a Zoom session and to download the latest application. The audio portion of this webinar is run through the computer rather than a phone line. A computer with external speakers or headset is needed; a microphone and/or webcam is required. CE Credit: 21 hours of continuing education are available. Please defer to your licensing board or agency to ensure courses taken meet your license requirements.

Handouts: Printed handouts will not be provided. Prior to the program, registrants will receive an email with links to view the handouts.

Evaluations: Please provide feedback on the course by completing the evaluation. A link to the online evaluation will be emailed to registrants.
