While attending the Quality Award Training, participants will examine the requirements and complete the AHCA/NCAL Bronze National Quality Award Application for award or renewal award. Participants will leave the workshop with completed applications.

Content: The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards Program is a progressive program that is based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. Participants move from the Bronze level, to Silver, and then ultimately to Gold. Bronze recipients must demonstrate a groundwork for excellence by completing a self-assessment that outlays their organizational priorities and goals. Silver awardees outline their systematic approaches and demonstrate sustainable organizational and process results linked to their key customer requirements, success factors, and challenges. Objectives: At the completion of the training, the participant will be able to: 

  1. Examine the AHCA/NCAL Bronze National Quality Award application/renewal process
  2. Review the technical requirements of the application/renewal process
  3. Discuss the recertification policy of the awards program
  4. Examine the Bronze National Quality Award criteria
  5. Develop the framework of a Bronze National Quality Award application/renewal

Audience: This program is appropriate for all staff in assisted living and nursing facilities. Facilities may send individual representatives but are encouraged to send a three-member team consisting of an administrator, mid-level leader, and frontline caregiver.
