School Policies: Nebraska Health Care Learning Center (NHCLC) policies regarding admission, withdrawal, attendance, grades, transcripts, college credit, program requirements, and refunds are located in the Nebraska Health Care Learning Center Education Catalog. NHCLC is an affiliate of Nebraska Health Care Association.
Program Content: The assisted living administrator training consists of 30 classroom hours. The classroom content will cover topics generic to all administrators in assisted living. This program will meet the requirements of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for assisted living administrator training. A wide range of information will be covered including administration, financial management, resident care and services, social services, gerontology, and rules, regulations, and standards relating to the operation of an assisted living facility.
Program Objectives: At the completion of the program, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of the administrator in managing the operation of the facility
- Discuss the philosophy and principles of assisted living
- Describe the responsibilities for an administrator related to the financial aspects of the facility
- Develop a system for identifying a resident’s needs and incorporating them into the Resident Service Agreement
- Relate the provision of services to a resident with changing needs
- Describe the normal aging process in relation to care and services
- Review the rules, regulations, and standards of operation related to the assisted living facility
Audience: This program is designed for any individual in or planning to be in an administrator/director/manager position in an assisted living facility.
College Credit: Nebraska Health Care Learning Center awards [3.0] hours of college credit upon successful completion of this course. See the Nebraska Health Care Learning Center Education Catalog (Published: April 2025) for credit requirements. To receive college credit, a high school or equivalent transcript and a Transcript Request form must be on file with NHCLC within 30 days of completing the course. Email or fax transcripts will not be accepted. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to receive college credit.
CE Credit: 30 hours of continuing education credit is available. This training is appropriate for the educational requirement for assisted living administrators.

Handouts: Printed handouts will not be provided. Prior to the program, registrants will receive

Evaluations: Please provide feedback on the course by completing the evaluation, which is available in the "Education" tab in your account profile.
Attendance and Cancellation: Students must complete at least 50% of the course to be eligible for make-up days. An incomplete is given until time and content are made up. Substitution, cancellation, and refund policies can be found at this link.
