Description
Nebraska Health Care Association (NHCA) seeks a mission-driven, experienced professional for its Operations Director for Educational Services. The position’s primary responsibility is to manage the business operations of NHCA’s educational programs, including the Nebraska Health Care Learning Center (NHCLC), a private post-secondary college for those seeking to launch or advance a career in health care, in alignment with NHCA’s strategic plan. 

In addition to operational management, this role is responsible for successfully executing, monitoring, and finalizing projects within budget and timelines, through the leadership of team members and coordination of third-party contractors/consultants. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Management

  • Manage the overall and day-to-day operations of NHCLC’s and NHCA’s educational programs in compliance with state and federal requirements and evidence-based practices.
  • Develop comprehensive operational plans and assist in the definition of goals and objectives, in alignment with NHCA’s strategic plan, with the involvement of relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage changes to the scope, schedule, and cost of projects.
    Continuously monitor NHCLC’s progress and performance in alignment with quality standards and organizational objectives.
  • Minimize NHCLC’s risks though effective risk management.
 

Leadership

  • Lead and manage project team members and third party contractors/consultants to achieve project goals, foster a positive educational culture, and promote leadership in alignment with NHCA’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Coordinate all administrative processes related to education, including budgets, policies, and learning management systems.
  • Foster a cooperative team environment.
  • Promote positive relationships with Nebraska Department of Education and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and ensure NHCLC’s credentialing, certification, and approval processes operate smoothly.
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management.


Communication and Reporting

  • Meet regularly with team members and third-party contractors/consultants to clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Report changes and concerns to management as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor evaluation process for classes and instructors, gathering and analyzing data and preparing reports.
 

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills that foster, promote, and actualize servant leadership philosophies and values
  • Experience with market analysis, strategic planning, and budget development and management
  • Training in or experience using process improvement approaches and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen)
  • Experience using data to identify and drive processes
  • Ability to build and lead a team, determine work procedures, assign duties, and promote efficiency
  • Above average user skills in computer and information technology
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple activities and situations simultaneously and handle confidential material judiciously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


DESIRED

  • Three years of operations or management experience
  • Knowledge or experience with Nebraska Department of Education and/or Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services policies and processes
  • Experience working in a skilled nursing facility and/or assisted living community, including working knowledge of overall operations
