Traci Haglund, Administrator of Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, Neb., was presented with the Nebraska Nursing Facility Association (NNFA) and Nebraska Assisted Living Association (NALA) Administrator of the Year Award at a special event on Oct. 24 at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln.

The NNFA-NALA Administrator of the Year Award is awarded to a nursing home or assisted living facility leader who “makes real contributions to the well-being of their residents.”

Described as “hardworking, passionate, innovative, and caring,” Haglund was nominated by a co-worker for successfully improving employee morale by aligning employee evaluations with the facility’s mission and values; securing a grant to implement a six-month teamwork and leadership development program; and developing a monthly education platform that has increased staff engagement.

Beyond her role at the facility, Haglund serves as a board and committee member for Nebraska Health Care Association and participates in Nebraska Health Care LEAD, a year-long leadership development program. She is also engaged at the national level, having been selected as a 2023 participant in the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living’s prestigious Future Leaders program.
