▶ Leading Others 101: Congratulations, You Are a Brand New Manager...Now What? (Mark Iverson)

This session is for new managers or those looking to become new managers. It will give attendees a baseline understanding of the responsibilities of a new manager in a leadership role. Attendees will learn that "why" they lead goes hand in hand with "how" they lead. Too often, organizations move the best person in a department into a manager role when there is a vacancy. A great housekeeper does not always equate to being a "great housekeeping manager." Organizations need to do a better job assessing talent for leadership and also a better job coaching and training that talent before, during, and after a new manager is in their role.

Speaker: Mark Iverson, Owner, Coach, and Consultant, The Warrior's Mindset

Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Select new managers and assess their "why" as well as "how" they will lead others
  2. Identify the importance of coaching and training new managers
  3. Describe their own "why" and "how" they can grow and develop into leaders that others are inspired to follow

Audience: This session is appropriate for all staff in skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities.
