
Nursing Facility Administrator Preceptor Training: On-Demand

Course Overview: In today’s fast-paced environment, the ability to efficiently train an AIT or mentor without compromising your own or your team’s productivity is essential. This program will offer nursing facility administrators training to assist them as preceptors for AITs and/or mentors. The topics to be covered include culture change, state statutes and regulations, communication, generational styles, learning styles, principles of adult education, leadership, and team building.
Objectives: At the completion of the training, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the regulatory requirements of a preceptor
- Support the development of an individualized curriculum for an AIT/mentor and preceptor, including culture change and quality
- Identify topics to be covered with an AIT/mentor
- Describe teaching methods that can be utilized with an AIT/mentor
- Implement a training program for an AIT/mentor
- Evaluate the completed training program for the AIT/mentor and preceptor
Audience: This program is appropriate for Nursing Facility Administrators who would like to become preceptors or who want to renew their preceptor certificate. Administrators must complete the full 5-hour online course to obtain certification as a preceptor.
Format: This course is completely online and on-demand on NHCA's learning management system. Attendees will receive an email with information on how to access the course within 24 hours of their registration.
