Content: This program will discuss the most common life safety deficiencies for long-term care and assisted living facilities in Nebraska. The minimum required inspection, testing, and maintenance activities that need to be performed on a facility’s fire protection systems to meet requirements will be discussed. This training will also include a tabletop exercise on workplace violence.
Objectives: At the completion of the training, the participant will be able to:
- Understand the top life safety deficiencies in Nebraska
- Explain what regular inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements apply to a facility
- Identify what inspection, testing, and maintenance aspects can be performed by facility personnel and what needs to be done by licensed contractors
- List two updates to the Life Safety Code for nursing facilities and assisted living facilities
- Describe emergency preparedness for workplace violence in long-term care
Audience: This program is appropriate for administrators and maintenance supervisors in nursing facilities and assisted living facilities.

Format: Registrants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Each attendee will
designate in-person or virtual format during registration. Registrants must attend in
the format in which they are registered.
