Program Content: The DNS-CT credential from AAPACN shows that you have the leadership and management skills and knowledge to excel as a DON. Certification indicates that you have met nationally recognized standards of expertise for directors of nursing services in long-term care, that you are up-to-date with the rules and regulations, and that you can lead and nurture your team.

Audience: This program is designed for directors of nursing services, nursing home administrators, vice presidents of clinical services, and other long-term care professionals with management responsibilities. To earn the credential, you must be an RN and pass the DNS-CT certification examination with a score of 80% or better.

CE Credit: 22.5 CEs are available for this program. The American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN*) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. AAPACN* works in conjunction with the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) to provide nursing home administrators with continuing education credit for any AAPACN workshop attended.

Format: Registrants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Each attendee will designate in-person or virtual format during registration. Registrants must attend in the format in which they are registered.

If you are attending virtually, an internet connection is required. NHCA uses Zoom as the webinar platform. You may participate from any computer and most mobile devices that have internet access. However, to receive full credit, you must be logged into the Zoom app through your computer or mobile device. Visit zoom.us/test to test if your computer is ready for a Zoom session and to download the latest application. The audio portion of this webinar is run through the computer rather than a phone line. A computer with external speakers or headset is needed; a microphone and/or webcam is required.
